Method statement for mobile scaffold towers
A mobile tower method statement should state the tower system, platform height, assembly method and permitted location. It needs controls for competent erection, manufacturer instructions, guardrails, toe boards, internal access, stabilisers, locking castors and formal inspection. Falls during assembly, tower overturn, falling tools and contact with openings or overhead services are foreseeable hazards. Under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, the work and access equipment must be planned, suitable and inspected by competent people. Use the recognised through-the-trapdoor or advance-guardrail build method for the selected system. Before anyone climbs, check that the tower is level, all components are fitted, the inspection tag is current and the exclusion area remains effective.
